The horse has helped speed up the development of man, provide transportation, farming, ranching and competition between ones neighbor. In short, the horse meant work. The willingness, loyalty and spirit would not be outdone by the machine or technology. The horse enabled man to hunt, to travel, and to migrate west. The horse is also a weapon of war. A solider on horseback or in a chariot had power and mobility. Mounted warriors and war chariots add a psychological aspect to warfare. The performance horse evolved into the workhorse as man developed technology in the 19th century. The horse gave man mobility to “go west,” and migrate to the western frontier.
